MARGAO: Special Judge Irshad Agha today reserved the order on the application of the prosecution for re-examination of victim girl in Babush Monserrate alleged minor rape case.
The arguments in the matter were completed today and the order has been reserved till Friday.
The testimony of the victim girl was completed on August 23.
However, the prosecution had urged the court to allow re-examination of the victim girl by claiming that he wants to bring new information before the court.
The counsel for accused Babush Monserrate has opposed the application of re-examination of victim girl.
The survivor had alleged in May 2016 that she was drugged and raped by Monserrate after she was sold by her mother for Rs 50 lakh to him.
The case was recently transferred to the South Goa principal district and sessions court presided over by Judge Irshad Agha.
Monserrate is facing trial for the rape of a young girl and is charged with the offences of rape with section 376 of the Indian Penal Code, human trafficking, section 370 A of the IPC, Section 328 (poisoning) and section 324 of wrongful confinement.
The victim had in a statement given to the police back in 2016 accused Monserrate of buying her, drugging her and sexually assaulting her.
