PANAJI: Revenue Minister Babush Monserrate today informed that special mamlatdars will be appointed to handle and fastrack the mundkarial cases.
“Special mamlatdars will be appointed to handle and fastrack the mundkarial cases. Cases of partition of properties would also be disposed off in six months and that a revision of minimum wages of workers is on the cards,” said Monserrate
He further said that forest right claims are on the fast track and demarcation of survey of Ponda taluka is complete,” he said, adding that training to revenue officers would be given on updated laws while infrastructure and manpower would be provided for the department.
Monserrate further said that he has already directed the District Collectors to appoint dedicated mamlatdars to dispose of mundkarial and tenancy cases without any further adjournments.
“Mudkarial cases have been lingering on for years together now. We need to bring in changes in the revenue department for speedy disposal of the long pending cases, in time bound manner,” he said. “It should not happen Tarik par Tarikh , now. Within 6 months things should move,” Babush added
He said that training will be imparted to revenue officials to fast-track the pending cases in the revenue department.
The final draft of Incident Response System under disaster management plan was ready and will be finalised soon, it was informed.
As regards labour welfare, the Minister said that the ESI corporation will set up an ESI hospital for North Goa.
“We have approached the housing board for land for setting up a 100-bedded ESI hospital for North Goa in Mulgaon-Bicholim,” he added.
