PANAJI: As a part of the golden jubilee celebration, the Rosary High School Cujira-Bambolim, had organised an Under-15 Invitational Inter School Football Tournament for the Golden Rosarian Cup.
Sixteen school teams participated and the finals were held on 3rd September, at the SAG Athletic Stadium, Bambolim.
The glittering finals were witnessed by the Chief Guest, Director of Education, Mr Shailesh Sinai Zingde, the Guest of Honour – Brahmanand Sankhwalkar and the special invitees, Sanjiv Nagvenkar and Muhammad Ali, the school Chairman, Tony Rodrigues, Manager Joel Rodrigues, the Headmistress, Mrs. Alice Joan Goes and a host of other dignitaries.
St. Britto’s High School Mapusa and the Rosary High School Navelim battled it out to clinch the coveted trophy.
St. Britto’s took the Trophy home by winning in the tiebreaker. The Rosary School band enthralled the spectators with their lively music and slogan shouting. A house game during the break was the added attraction. The event was compered by Tr. Silvaliza Estibeiro and the grand success of the tournament was a result of the hard work of the school sports unit consisting of teacher.

The best-disciplined team is St.Anthony’s High School, Monte de Guirim.
Best Goalkeeper: Mevy Mark Vales (Rosary High School, Navelim)
Best Defender- Ritvik Salunke (St.Britto’s High School, Mapusa)
Best midfielder: Varad Halankar (St.Britto’s High School, Mapusa)
Best Striker: Tanish Tendulkar (St. Britto High School, Mapusa)
Player of the Tournament: Messi Rebello ( Rosary High School, Navelim).
