PANAJI: The state governemnt has terminated the scheme wherein private musuems
would get Financial Assistance Scheme for setting up private museums and undertaking professional development of the existing museums, managed by individuals, institutions, voluntary organisations, trusts etc.
“Houses of Goa Museum, Goa Chitra Museum, Pillar Museum and aBig Foot Museum have take the benefit of the Financial Assistance Scheme. As on 29/09/2020 from the year 2020 onwards the scheme has been terminated,” informed CM Sawant
He further said that under the scheme the grant is released in three installments. After each installment utilization certificate and audited statement of accounts is taken from grantee before release of subsequent installment.
The scheme envisages financial assistance to museums engaged in the promotion, preservation and conservation of the cultural heritage of Goa, such as antiquities, numismatics, paintings, folk art, manuscripts or any other unique theme reflecting/ depicting Goan history, life or culture.
