SANGUEM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that his government has decided to legalise all those houses which have come up on the government land nearly three to four decades back.
CM Sawant was talking in context to the IIT land at Sanguem.
“Goa government has decided to legalize all those houses which have come up on government land nearly three to four decades back,”: said CM Sawant.
He further said that those whose which were constructed 30 or 40 years back by encroaching government land, the government is ready to give them the ownership right.
“We are not here to demolish any houses; we will give them ownership right along with 500 meters of surrounding land,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sawant said that the foundation stone for the IIT Goa project would be laid within the next six months.
“This government is for the people. We all should get united and work for the IIT. Within the next six months, we can lay the foundation stone; only locals from the area will get opportunities in non-teaching jobs,” he said.
He said that once the IIT is operationalised, it will bring jobs and business opportunities for the locals.
“I request those opposing the project to take a step back and reconsider their stand. We will be laying the foundation stone for the IIT campus after six months,” Sawant said.
