FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai has attacked Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for his remarks that the community regulation needs to be corrected to stop the demolition of “illegal” houses as a political ploy.
“Decision to legalise houses on encroached land by migrants is an assault and an insult to Goans who have abided by the law of this land, worked hard, and bought houses with their hard-earned money,” said Vijai.
He further said that the Bhumiputra Bill introduced with the intent of creating a
BJP migrant vote bank at the cost of local Goemkars was allowed to lapse because it’s a law that was aimed at allowing outsiders to take over Goa from Goemkars.
“Is this its revival? The government’s loyalty to outsiders is clear with its attempts to bypass High Court decisions through ordinances to hand over Goan lands to outsiders. I vehemently object to this,” said Vijai.
He further questioned who’s Government of Goa taking instructions from. Goan land is Goemkar land. All of us should fight to protect it, come what may!
Secretary of the South Goa Comunidade Forum Savio Correia said, “The Supreme Court has clearly said that you cannot regularise the encroachment on comunidade land and that all the encroachments should be demolished.
