BAMBOLIM: Land grab accused Siddiqui Suleman Khan has been admitted to Goa Medical College (GMC) Bambolim, for a minor surgery.
The Old Goa police have confirmed the development.
During his seven days in police custody, the authorities are also intensifying their interrogations while maintaining his regular medical check-ups every 48 hours.
Even though Suleman is scheduled to meet with AAP President Amit Palekar in person to discuss the leaked viral footage, sources disclosed that he is not assisting with the inquiry.
The department is investigating the source of the most recent video that surfaced of Suleman and the purported Rs 3 crore transaction with former IRB constable Amit Naik, who is accused of helping him escape.
The Goa Police are also questioning Suleman’s wife, Afsana, over the purported land grab that was reported to the Mapusa police station. The accused couple was taken from Kerala, where they had been held for two days, to Goa on Monday night.
Suleman, who was detained on Monday on suspicion of breaking out of the Ribandar Crime Branch lock-up, is also continuously monitored by CCTV at the Panaji police station lock-up.
Three constables and the head constable have been assigned to keep an eye on him in accordance with protocol; this arrangement also applies to other suspects detained by the police. Through CCTVs placed across the area, we are also keeping an eye on him,” the officer continued.
