CANACONA: Stating Canacona’s Vision and Mission -2030 is progressing in the right earnest, Canacona MLA and Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Ramesh Tawadkar said a brilliant agricultural concept would make every farmer from Canacona ‘Self-sufficient’.
Tawadkar was speaking at the Farmer Training Program” organised by “The Agricultural Technical Management System” (Atma), South Goa, Directorate of Agriculture and Bharat Agro Services, Reliance Polymers and Ultra Non-wovens in association with Balaram Residential Vidyalaya, Amone (Poinguinim)
Speaking as the chief guest, Tawadkar said, “Through Canacona Vision and Mission, we will create a brilliant agricultural concept for Canacona and thereby, every farmer in this area can become self-sufficient. The Directorate of Agriculture, as well as the people of this constituency and especially the youth, should take the initiative and lead the movement. I always support this and will continuously do so.”
Earlier, Agronomist Dr Dilip Nagvekar explained how we could plant coconut through the Panchsutri program. Satyajit Vijay Bhosle informed the farmers that they could cultivate fruits and vegetables according to and suitable to the climate.
Sarpanch of Painginim Panchayat and Principal of Balram Residential School Savita Ramesh Tawadkar, Project Director of South Goa (ATMA) Shivram Gaonkar, Canacona Agriculture Officer Kirtiraj Gawkar, Chairman’s Special Task Officer Nagesh Komarpant, Technical Advisor of Bharat Agro Service Kolhapur Udayan Prakash Kulkarni, Sarpanch of Khotigaon Panchayat Anandu Desai were also present on the platform, besides a large number of farmers were present in the audience.
The program was moderated by Shivaram Gaonkar, and a vote of thanks was given by Nagesh Komarpant.
