ASSAGAO: An incident of repeated theft at a telecom tower site has been reported from Assagao in Bardez, where unidentified persons allegedly broke open the DG set door cabinet on three separate occasions and stole batteries and electrical equipment.
According to the complaint filed by Ramesh Naik, Technician with Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, the incidents occurred on June 2 at 9:40 pm, and again on June 4 at 6:19 am and 10:40 pm at Plot No. SY No. 99/1, Bouta Waddo, Assagao.
The unknown accused allegedly broke open the lock of the DG set door cabinet of tower ID No. 1-MH-PNJI-ENB-0079 and stole three DG batteries and one MCB, collectively valued at approximately ₹30,000.
During further investigation, police managed to recover the three DG batteries. PSI Sahil Warang is conducting the investigation, and further probe is in progress to identify and apprehend the accused.
