PANAJI: The past weekend witnessed three single rescues, two missing children who were found by the lifesavers, and a case of medical assistance.
Drishti Marine conducted three single rescues, all of the three which occurred in South Goa.
One at Benaulim beach, wherein a 30-year-old male from Thane was rescued by lifesaver Sandesh Velip using a rescue tube.
Subsequently, at Rajbagh- Canacona, lifesavers Narayan Pagi and Ganpati Bhoot rescued a 45-year-old male from Bihar using a rescue tube and a surfboard.
The third rescue was of a child aged 3 years from Hyderabad at Dudhsagar by lifesaver Hanuman Bhajrantri using the rescue tube.
In another incident, Drishti Marine provided medical assistance to a transgender at Anjuna who was heavily intoxicated and was found unconscious a few meters away from the shoreline. The victim was having difficulty breathing, and oxygen was immediately administered to the victim. Later, after gaining consciousness, the victim was handed over to the ambulance.
Meanwhile, two children at Colva beach, both aged six (one from Margao and one from Ahmednagar), were reported missing by their respective mothers; they were later found at Colva itself and were subsequently handed over to their mothers by the lifesavers after confirmation and in the presence of police officials.
