The recently started Tika Utsav is getting huge success in Canacona and denizens are all in praise for the local MLA and health care staff for making all efforts in that direction.
The Tika Utsav got underway in Canacona on last Saturday, a day earlier than it was started at a national level.
The Tika Utsav was a huge success in Loliem with 306 persons above the age of 45 taking the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
Next day which was a Sunday, inspite of the annual power shutdown the Tika Utsav registered 300 persons above 45 taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
Cola another village in Canacona taluka saw 255 persons taking the Covid-19 jab.
The Tika Utsav which is underway on Thursday registered 200 Benifishries till 2.00 pm and is expected to cross 300 mark by the end of the day.
Sources at Canacona Community Health Centre informed that a total of two thousand above the age of 45 have till now taken the Covid-19 vaccine.
With active support from the local MLA and deputy speaker Isidore Fernandes the health officials are confident of administration of Covid-19 vaccine to minimum of three thousand benifishries.
Sources informed that the Tika Utsav will be held in Shristhal on Friday, Gaoundogrim on Saturday and Khotigao on Monday.
