MARGAO: Railway Protection Force (RPF) have arrested three persons who befriended strangers in train and looted them after giving them food and drinks laced with sleeping pills powder.
As per information all three accused are natives of Bihar but presently residing at Ponda and are identified as Mo Sartaj (age 29 yrs), Chandan Kumar ( age 23 yrs), and Dara Kumar (age 29 yrs).
Police said that they used to mix sleeping pills in Chocolate or Cold drink and give to gullible train passengers by befriending them.
After the passengers became unconscious, they used to loot their belongings, informed RPF.
Alerted after 8 persons on Vasco-Nizamuddin express were found drugged and looted between Goa and Belgaum route on Sept 12, police maintained a strict vigil and were on the lookout of the culprits.
Similar incident was reported on Konkan Kanya Express train on Sept 20. Railway police analysed the complainants description of criminals and CCTV footages of various stations and zeroed down on the three accused.
They have been handed over to Goa police for legal action as per law.
