PANAJI: Two separate cases involving the theft of Honda Activa scooters have been reported in North Goa, with Bicholim Police arresting a 40-year-old man and recovering one of the stolen vehicles.
In the Mapusa case, 42-year-old Vishal Shirodkar of Khorlim, Mapusa, lodged a complaint on August 10 regarding the theft of his red Honda Activa 6G from the old Mumbai Bus Stand.
According to the complaint, the scooter, bearing registration number GA-03-AH-7598, was parked in an open parking area and was allegedly stolen between 10 pm on March 12 and 10 am on March 13, 2026.
The 2022-model scooter, valued at approximately ₹70,000, has since remained untraced. Mapusa Police have initiated an investigation, which is being conducted by HC 4982 Tushar Redkar.
In a separate case in Bicholim, 40-year-old Manoj Kumar Dubey, a resident of Sankhalim, was arrested in connection with the theft of another Honda Activa.
The complaint was lodged by Suryakant Gauns of Bharoniwada, Navelim, who reported that his grey Honda Activa 6G DLX, bearing registration number GA-04-P-7305, was stolen from outside Durga General Store at Durigwada, Navelim, between 7.10 pm and 7.14 pm on August 8.
The scooter was valued at approximately ₹47,700.
During the investigation, Bicholim Police apprehended Dubey. Police said that during interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the theft and the stolen Activa was subsequently recovered from his possession.
Dubey was arrested on August 10 at around 11.42 pm.
Further investigation in the Bicholim case is being conducted by PSI Sumant Gaonkar, while the Mapusa case is being investigated by HC Tushar Redkar.
