VASCO: Balu Mama devotees in Goa, particularly in Vasco, have reason to rejoice as the port town is set to get a grand Balu Mama temple, with Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar assuring that the project will hopefully be completed before the next Balu Mama Jayanti.
The assurance came on Friday morning as hundreds of devotees participated in the Balu Mama Kalash Yatra to commemorate Balu Mama Jayanti, marking the occasion with devotion and enthusiasm.
Salkar said the number of Balu Mama devotees had increased significantly in Goa, particularly in Vasco, and that the proposed temple would provide them with a convenient place to offer prayers without having to travel to Maharashtra.
“Not everyone from Goa can travel to the main Balu Mama temple in Maharashtra. A grand temple in Vasco will give our devotees an opportunity to offer prayers and seek blessings here itself,” Salkar said.
He expressed hope that the temple would be completed before the next Balu Mama Jayanti, enabling devotees to celebrate the occasion at the new shrine.
The proposed temple is expected to serve as a common place of worship for Balu Mama devotees from Vasco and neighbouring areas, providing a spiritual centre for the growing community in the region.
