Their 3-1 victory over hosts Wilred Leisure Sports Club at the DSYA ground in Curtorim marked a significant milestone in their campaign. Key players Ashwin Fernandes, Dexten Fernandes, and Aaron Fernandes played pivotal roles in securing this crucial win.
The match was a testament to Velsao SCC’s relentless attacking prowess. From the outset, they pressured the Curtorim defense, with Ashwin Fernandes breaking the deadlock to secure a 1-0 lead at halftime. After the break, Wilred Leisure created several scoring opportunities but struggled to capitalize. Velsao SCC capitalized on this, extending their lead through Dexten Fernandes. Although Wilred Leisure managed to pull one back with a goal from Vicky Cardozo, Aaron Fernandes sealed the victory with a penalty kick.
