CURCHOREM: The vibrant ‘Rhythmix 2024,’ an All Goa inter high and higher secondary school dance competition, organized by Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem, was held on Saturday at the Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium.
In addition to the dance competition, an All Goa inter high and higher secondary school singing competition was also held at the venue, marking another significant milestone in the school’s golden jubilee celebrations.
Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, with Fr. Joseph Fernandes, General Councillor and Central Delegate of Pilar Society, as the Guest of Honour, who later gave away the prizes to winners in the presence of Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council Prasanna Bhende, PTA Chairman Jyothi D”Costa, Principal Fr. Walter Miranda and Manager Fr. Thomas Gonsalves.
Speaking during the event, MLA Cabral praised the efforts of Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School in nurturing students’ talents and providing a platform for them to showcase their creativity. He urged students to overcome the various challenges they face and remain resilient in their pursuit of success. He emphasized the importance of utilizing all the resources available to them, noting that they have numerous opportunities at their fingertips. “Strive to remove the best of them,” said Cabral.
The MLA also reminded students to respect their parents, elders, and teachers, who are all committed to guiding them towards their best potential. He emphasized that students should keep both their career goals and passions in hand as they move forward.
The event was elegantly compared by Sonia Gomes, who announced the winners of the competitions. Shreya Gaonkar of Holy Cross Institute, Quepem, Amber Geet Fernandes of Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem and Olivia A Souza of St. Anthony High School, Panchwadi got the first, second and third prize in the singing competition respectively in high school category while Yuti Sanvordekar of CTN Higher Secondary School, Curchorem, Prinson Rebello of Mount Mary HSS, Chinchinim and Aldrich J. Carvalho of Aninha Educational Institute, Sao Jose de Areal got first, second and third prize respectively in higher secondary school category.
In the dance competition, CTN Higher Secondary School, Curchorem got the first prize, second prize to host Guardian Angel HSS and Mount Mary HSS, Chinchinim received the third prize.
