PANAJI: The Goa BJP is following the footsteps of their bosses in Delhi of personally targetting the Congress leaders, says Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar.
The GPCC president drew similarities between the Modi government targetting Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi over the National Herald case and teh TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane targetting the Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo.
Patkar said Rane is personally targetting Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo and appealed to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to step in the matter.
“TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane is personally targetting LoP Michael Lobo; this is not acceptable. I urge CM Pramod Sawant to intervene in this matter,” said GPCC President Amit Patkar.
He further said that the language used by Rane against LoP is unparliamentary.
“Rane is suffering from short-term memory loss as he does not know who Michael Lobo is,” he said.
On the Outline Development Plans, Patkar said that Rane is levelling charges against his own government by saying there were irregularities in the ODPs.
“Govt is a continuous process, and decisions have to continue. He should clearly mention that there was corruption in ODPs. It was your own government he must know,” he added.
Patkar also questioned Rane as to why no FIRs have been filed against officers till now.
“He is sitting with the same officers for the press conference who finalised the ODP. File FIRs against the officers and the then TCP ministers,” he said.
He further said that the TCP Minister Rane must not use undemocratic language;
Patkar also charged that these tactics are not to save Goa but to intimidate the Opposition.
“If Rane was so concerned about Goa, why didn’t he still demolish the illegal bungalow of BJP leader Shaina NC at the Old Goa Heritage site. Why did he not still act against Mika Singh’s structure?” he said.
Patkar further continued why there is no FIR in the Vagueir hill cutting.
“He says he has so much love for Sattari that how did he allow the hill cutting? Why no FIRs still?” he asked.
Stating that targetting Lobo is a well-thought strategy, he said the GPCC President further questioned whether there are no irregularities in Taleigao, Mapusa and Kadamba Plateau ODPs.
He also questioned the increase in FAR of Kadamba Plateau to 400, which will affect Old Heritage and Goa Heritage.
When questioned why Congress is not united on the issue, he said all Congress MLAs are united on the issue, and you will see in the Assembly session.
“We are working on the strategy of exposing this government’s illegalities and collecting all documents to expose Rane’s misdeeds. His hands are full of blood of COVID victims, and we will expose him soon,” he said.
