New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the conflict with Iran is far from over, saying Israel is prepared for every possible scenario as tensions in the region remain high following the collapse of the recent US Iran ceasefire.
Speaking at the Israeli Air Force graduation ceremony at Hatzerim Air Base, Netanyahu said maintaining Israel’s air superiority remains a cornerstone of the country’s security strategy. He asserted that Iran had suffered a significant setback but cautioned that new security challenges were continuing to emerge.
Reiterating Israel’s long standing position on Tehran’s nuclear programme, Netanyahu said the country’s policy remains unchanged and that Iran will not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, regardless of whether an international agreement is reached. He argued that Israel’s military actions had prevented Iran from achieving that objective and stressed that the conflict was still ongoing.
His remarks came a day after US President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire with Iran had ended, calling further negotiations with Tehran a waste of time after both sides exchanged fresh military strikes. The latest escalation included Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and retaliatory strikes on US military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait, following American attacks on more than 80 Iranian targets and the reimposition of sanctions on Iranian oil exports.
Israeli military chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir echoed the Prime Minister’s warning, stating that the campaign against Iran was continuing and that the armed forces were already preparing for additional operations. He said major military actions could still lie ahead as Israel adapts its plans to evolving threats.
Defence Minister Israel Katz also said the military remains fully prepared to launch further strikes if required. He warned that any renewed operation would be carried out with even greater force, adding that Israel remains on high alert to preserve its air superiority and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
Netanyahu further said Israel has demonstrated the reach of its military capabilities through operations extending from Yemen to Iran. He also reiterated that Israeli forces would continue their deployment in Lebanon for as long as security conditions demand, underscoring that the broader campaign against Iran and its regional allies remains active.
