New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday asserted that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in the alleged embezzlement of donations collected at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, stressing that no guilty person would escape accountability.
Addressing a public gathering in Deoria, the Chief Minister said the state government acted swiftly after receiving the report of the Special Investigation Team constituted to examine the allegations. Following the submission of the report, police moved quickly and arrested all eight individuals named in the case.
Adityanath said the government remained committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring a fair investigation. He reiterated that the probe would distinguish facts from allegations and that any wrongdoing uncovered would be dealt with firmly.
The Chief Minister also accused certain political groups of attempting to exploit the issue to target devotees and tarnish the image of Ayodhya. He described the city as a symbol of faith and an important centre of Sanatan Dharma, warning against efforts to damage its reputation through unsubstantiated claims.
He maintained that if anyone possessed evidence related to the allegations, it should be submitted to investigators instead of being used for political campaigns or public accusations. He appealed to political parties to allow the investigation to proceed without interference and to avoid making premature conclusions while the inquiry remained underway.
Adityanath further criticised political opponents who questioned the investigation, claiming that such remarks were intended to create confusion around the issue.
The case relates to allegations of misappropriation of donations received at the Ram Temple. Authorities have confirmed that the accused are currently in police custody and will be produced before a court after initial questioning as the investigation continues.
