In the last one week, we have seen the positivity rate surge from 1.5 per cent to 26.43 p.c? Still, the CM and the HM are dilly-dallying saying, State government is looking into the matter.
From 40 cases daily, Goa has seen cases over 600 every day. Are we going to see “2021 Once More”?
The month of “May 2021” will be remembered for years together as 1729 innocent people lost their lives due to the negligence of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Instead of putting his mind on the unfortunate situation, the Chief Minister is seen roaming around with the BJP Central leaders and ministers for the inauguration of incomplete projects like Bambolim to Karaswada junction etc.

It has been almost 48 hours since the Expert committee has recommended imposing restrictions in view of the rising COVID19 cases, but the State government has not budged from its stand, and no preventive measures are being brought into force.
The Chief Minister believes that Goa is a tourist state, and restrictions will deter tourists from coming to Goa.
He said that before imposing any restrictions, he would have to take into confidence all stakeholders.
This statement was made just before the New year celebrations. Now that the new year is over, the question now arises: Why is the CM delaying the restrictions on night curfew?

The Chief Minister, ministers and the BJP party leaders seem to be busy in party meetings, rallies, where thousands of people are seen without masks, and social distancing has gone for a toss.
The Chief Minister knows that any restrictions would also hamper his party’s meetings in the State.
Are inaugurations of projects more important than the lives of the people? Are election more important, Mr CM? Have you and your government and the party suffering from Short Term Memory Loss that you forgot the COVID19 mayhem in May 2021? Don’t you know what the families of 3500 people, who died so far, went through in 2021? Children have lost both their parents in COVID19 second wave. Do you want the situation to be repeated?
Agreed, with the election month, but this is the time for the BJP and the Chief Minister to bring in restrictions and better be prepared to avert any threat which is posed by the third wave of the COVID19.
This is the time when the State has to get back and start notifying Covid Care Centres, streamline Oxygen supplies and other COVID19 equipment and materials like PPEs etc.
This is also time to announce some restrictions and if the tourists stay away due to this, let that be, we have to protect the lives of our citizens first rather than the unruly tourists.
Once the threat reduces, we can again welcome the tourists. Isn’t it?
But shockingly, either the CM’s advisory team or the CM himself does not seem to pay heed to the problems of Goa and the citizens.
