PANAJI: A day after Minister Vishwajit Rane appealed to voters to look for a political alternative if the government fails to provide 22,000 jobs, BJP State President Sadanand Tanavade today said that he will definitely seek clarification from the Valpoi MLA.
Minister Vishwajit Rane yesterday in his speech said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide jobs, and will request CM to create employment opportunities for unemployed youth in Goa, at least 22,000 jobs should be created & offered to youth.
“I tried calling him but his phone was not reachable. I will speak to Vishwajit Rane but such statements should not be made,” said Tanavade.
He further said that he would speak to him, and seek clarification on his statements.
“As seen the BJP membership drive was successfully done by all MLAs,” he stated.
The BJP State chief also acknowledged that there have been some concerning statements from the MLAs and MPs of late.
“I have told them not to do so. But one has to understand that not all MLAs and Ministers are from BJP and it will take some of the time to understand the party’s discipline,” he stated.
Tanavade today also said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has started a series of meetings with BJP karyakartas at the party headquarters in Panaji.
“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has started a series of meetings with BJP karyakartas at the party headquarters in Panaji. These meetings will occur every Tuesday, with various ministers available to interact with the Karyakartas,” said Tanavade.
He further said that BJP’s membership drive in Goa has surpassed 1.07 lakh members, with the highest numbers in the Sankhali constituency, according to state BJP president Sadanand Tanavade.
“The drive began on September 1 and experienced reduced activity during the Ganesh festival. Despite this, the party has seen significant enrollment across the state,” said Tanavade.
He further said that highest membership was achieved in Sankhali constituency but due to the Ganesh festival in between, the drive was held cold.
Speaking further Tanavade also said that CM Sawant plans and decides as to which Minister should be present at BJP HQ every Tuesday and accordingly that Minister is assigned.
