PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that he will send a legal notice to Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai over his alleged remarks about a Rs 2000 crore scam in the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department.
“I will send a legal notice to Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai over his alleged remarks of a Rs 2000 crore. Vijai knows that files from the TCP never come to the Chief Minister and still is making such baseless allegations,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that Vijai Sardesai is unnecessarily trying to divert people’s attention by making such statements.
“I will ask to send a legal notice and ask to inquire about these allegations in detail,” he informed.
Vijai made a statement wherein he alleged CM Sawant and former TCP Minister Babu Kavlekar were involved in a TCP scam of Rs 2000 crore.
Vijai had said, “The matter of Section 16B of TCP Act is before High Court. Not a single case has been taken forward. The Chief Minister should show guts and scrap the Section 16B. There are more than 7,700 cases related to this section, and the section was not brought to do retail business.”
