PORVORIM: Minister Micheal Lobo today urged all the agitating taxi operators to withdraw their strike and come for talks so that a solution or conclusion is met.
“I have already spoke to CM Sawant and urged him to come out with a solution but first all the taxi operators should withdraw their protests.” Said Lobo
He further said that no one should be blamed for this mess and the only solution will come out after they come for talks with the state government.
“CM is ready to talk to them and then only we can come out with a collective decision, I will be present for the meeting along with Transport Minister and CM,” he said
Lobo, who is also the minister for ports, said that he has requested chief minister Pramod Sawant to close down the GoaMiles counter at the Goa airport, a move that can solve 50% of the taxi operators’ issue. “I have asked the CM to direct the transport department to close down the GoaMiles counter at the airport.
Speaking on tourism, Lobo said that The business is down by 90 percent and if check there is only 15 percent occupancy at the moment.
“As cases are up in the other states the business is being hit but this is a worldwide trend,” he said
