OLD GOA: Old Goa Police have registered a cyber fraud case after a woman from Cumbharjua was allegedly cheated of ₹1.5 lakh by a fraudster posing as a Blue Dart customer care executive.
According to police, Crime No. 101/2026 was registered on August 4 under Sections 318(4) and 319(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, based on a complaint lodged by Vaishnavi Mahale (39), a resident of Khadapwada, Cumbharjua.
The complainant alleged that on July 27, 2026, before 3.25 am, she received a call from a person using mobile number 7735630160, who falsely identified himself as a Blue Dart customer care executive.
The accused allegedly convinced the complainant to install an application on her mobile phone. After gaining access, he obtained her banking credentials and carried out fraudulent transactions, resulting in a loss of ₹1,50,000.
Old Goa Police have launched an investigation into the case. PSI Diplaraj Gaude is conducting further investigation.
