PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that Government of Goa is working towards providing a early detection to control of hypertension and improving quality of care.
“Health Ministry, Government of Goa is working towards providing a continuum of care from early detection to control of hypertension and improving quality of care,” said Rane
He further said that a lot of Goans between the age of 25 and 35, come to the GMC with bleeds.
“I tried to find out why so many youngsters in Goa suffer strokes. Doctors have told me it’s because of lifestyle,” Rane said,
Rane said that many detected with hypertension issues early ignore them and do not take care.
The Health Minister held a meeting of senior doctors of the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H).
Rane also proposed a ‘holistic healthcare’ module to tackle the phenomenon.
The cabinet had granted permission to collaborate with HLL Lifecare Limited, a government of India enterprise, to develop a hub and spoke model at various primary health centres (PHCs), community health centres (CHCs) and the super specialty block of Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital for the required treatment.
An ischemic stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from getting oxygen and nutrients. Brain cells begin to die in minutes.
A stroke is a medical emergency, and prompt treatment is crucial. Early action can reduce brain damage and other complications.
