PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Youth Congress President Adv. Archit Naik has questioned Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant over his recent meeting with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, asking whether the discussion addressed pressing concerns affecting students across the country.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Naik said the people of Goa deserve to know whether the meeting was focused on resolving issues related to the NEET paper leak controversy or was merely a ceremonial engagement.
He questioned whether the Chief Minister sought an explanation from the Union Minister regarding the alleged examination irregularities and the impact they had on lakhs of students. Naik also asked if the concerns of students facing stress and uncertainty due to examination-related controversies were brought to the Minister’s attention.
The Youth Congress leader further questioned whether Dr. Sawant had urged the Union Education Minister to take responsibility for the alleged failures linked to the examination system.
Criticising the BJP, Naik said students continue to suffer because of examination scams, paper leaks and administrative lapses, while party leaders focus on publicity and photo opportunities.
“The youth of Goa deserve answers, not photo-ops. Accountability cannot be replaced by publicity,” Naik said.
He added that the future of India’s youth deserves accountability and transparency, and called on the government to address the concerns of students rather than offering what he termed as political excuses.
