KERI: Mandrem Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the theft of Rs 40,000 from the donation box (fund peti) of Shree Ajoba Devasthan at Keri.
The crime was registered at Mandrem Police Station as Crime No. 84/26 under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unknown persons after the theft was reported on September 10, 2025.
Following the registration of the case, police conducted intelligence gathering and apprehended Ramprakash Babulal, 19, a native of Uttar Pradesh, from Keri.
During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to his involvement in the theft. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the case.
Police are currently carrying out efforts to recover the stolen amount of Rs 40,000 and further investigation is underway.
