MARGAO: A 77-year-old doctor in South Goa has been booked for allegedly molesting a 27-year-old female patient at his clinic.
According to a senior police official, a case has been filed against the doctor, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
“The alleged incident happened on August 16.” The victim had gone to the doctor’s office in the late afternoon. She claims that the doctor touched her inappropriately after requesting her to remove her clothes, the officer reported.
A 27-year-old woman filed a complaint stating that a doctor had molested her by stroking her chest when she was at the clinic, according to the head of the Margao police station, PI Tulsidas Naik. The police have now opened an investigation.
The incident happened on August 16 at around 9.30 p.m. when the girl went to the clinic because she had a fever.
“According to the girl’s allegation, there were three other patients waiting to see the doctor before her when she arrived at the clinic. When the alleged abuse allegedly occurred, she was the doctor’s last patient to have a checkup, according to PI Tulsidas.
Meanwhile, doctor’s son narrating the incident, said that on 16th August 2023 one girl came to clinic in the night at 10 pm and waited till other patients were gone and than came inside for check up.
“After checkup she went out and came back with 2 friends and started saying that doctor molested her and started recording video. The patients outside interfered and asked the said persons to stop this nonsense. So my dad said if she felt bad than he is sorry than they all agreed and went,” said doctor’s son.
His Son further said that on August 18 (Next day) next day evening a person Digvijay Chauvan along with that girl went to the PS to fill case.
“Late night at around 8:30 pm Digvijay Chauvan was ready for settlement as girl was in trauma and asking for RS 25 lakhs which he rejected and later 10 later said she was ready for RS 9 lakhs as settlement,” he says.
