PORVORIM: A total of 9457 taxis have been fitted with digital taxi meters as of 04/07/2022, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho informed teh House.
Further, he said that 15709 vehicles are fitted with Speed Governors in the State.
While there is a subsidy for digital meters, there is no government scheme for granting of subsidy for the Speed Governor.
About teh licence for aggregators, he said, the Government has issued an Aggregator licence to Frotamiles Pvt. Ltd., who had launched the app-based taxi hailing system under the brand name Goa Miles. Any taxi operator having a valid permit can join the cab Aggregator.
