Aam Aadmi National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Goa today, the Delhi CM spent the day interacting with party leadership and Goenkars. Whoever he met in Goa stated how upset they were with the situation of unemployment, where youth have to beg MLA’s and big politicians for jobs. Instead of getting jobs based on their own hard work.
At the airport Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was welcomed by Aam Aadmi Party leaders and also met the taxi drivers who were present and shared their concerns as they were impacted due to tourism slow down, lockdown and Corona virus pandemic. Taxi drivers who depend on tourism for their daily bread, have been unable to earn money ever since the start of the pandemic and have received no support from Goa’s BJP government.
The taxi drivers praised Arvind Kejriwal scheme of providing support to rickshaw drivers and taxi drivers in Delhi worth Rs 5000 during the lockdown months to ensure that they do not go down in poverty, they also praised Kejriwal’s ‘Free Door step delivery of ration scheme’ while highlighting how they too were helped by the Aam Aadmi Party’s door-to-door ration campaign. Taxi drivers shared their concern with Arvind Kejriwal they were worried that due to the lockdown, they may not be able to come out of their economic difficulties.
At Panaji Arvind Kejriwal was met by many leaders including a delegation from the Bhandari Samaj. The Bhandari Samaj shared their concerns with Shri Arvind Kejriwal and explained how despite economic slow down and the effects of the lockdown, the BJP government in Goa has taken no steps at all to help the common Goenkars. They narrated how people have lost jobs due to the economic slowdown, they described how families were finding it difficult to make days meet. Members of the delegation also told Arvind Kejriwal that while it was obvious that the Goenkars were suffering neither the government nor the local MLA’s whether from the BJP, Congress or other parties came out and helped them.
They narrated the problems which Goenkars faced due to bad health care system and uncaring government. They praised Aam Aadmi Party’s initiatives in Delhi with were providing help to many people from backward section of the society to whether economic slow down due to pandemic. They also highlighted how youth from the Bhandari Samaj are being cheated by the local MLA’s and political leaders when it came to the fact of providing jobs, they explained that MLA’s come every election time and they promise jobs and they make youth beg for jobs, finally those who are the chamchas and very close to the MLA’s eventually get jobs.
They expressed their wish to Arvind Kejriwal that this kind of politics in Goa must end and expressed their confidence that Aam Aadmi Party is the only party who can end this kind of politics in Goa.
At the end of the meeting, they invited Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi chief minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal to Rudreshwar Temple which is important to their community and asked to accompany them to pay his respect at the temple. Shri Arvind Kejriwalji went with the Rudreshwar Mandir and paid his respects and performed Aarti at the Mandir and interacted with the diety the local residents over there.
