The Aam Aadmi Party joint secretary Sunil Signapurkar hit out at Mapusa MLA Joshua D’souza for claiming Mapusa does not need any development when the city lacks development in all areas.
The Mapusa MLA Joshua recently said that when he go door-to-door to ask people what development they need, they reply that Mapusa is already developed and nothing needs to be done.
Reacting on this Signapurkar said, “Joshua doesn’t know anything about his own region. Mapusa needs development. The Gandhi Chowk to Calangute road needs to be widened. The narrow roads cause accidents and many have died as a result”.
“In Mapusa, there is also a serious traffic issue. There is no space to park two-wheelers, and Joshua has spent crores of rupees on building a bus stop that looks more like a cowshed. There is also no toilet facility for the vendors in Mapusa market”, he added.
He further said, “People in Mapusa have been responding positively to AAP’s door-to-door campaign. They’re seeing a ray of hope in AAP and AAP’s Mapusa candidate Rahul Mhambre. Unlike Joshua, Mhambre has a vision for the constituency, and so this time people will back AAP”.
