New Delhi: In a significant display of international cooperation, India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, recently hosted a global intelligence summit in New Delhi. This high-profile gathering brought together key figures from the Five Eyes alliance—comprising the US, UK, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada—along with other nations. The event underscored a major step forward in collaborative efforts to tackle pressing security challenges, including terrorism and emerging technological threats. Notable attendees included US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, UK’s National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, and New Zealand’s intelligence chief Andrew Hampton.
The summit in New Delhi marked a pivotal moment in global security cooperation, assembling intelligence chiefs from over 20 countries. The intelligence chiefs also participated in the Raisina Dialogue, a prominent multilateral conference focused on geopolitics and strategy. The event, themed ‘Kalachakra – People, Peace, And Planet,’ drew participation from over 120 countries, featuring heads of states, governments, spy chiefs, and industry leaders. Amidst these discussions, the summit occurred against the backdrop of strained India-Canada relations over the Hardeep Singh Nijjar case, underscoring the complexities of international cooperation.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed broader global issues, including the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and tensions in the Middle East. These discussions underscored the interconnected nature of global security challenges and the need for collaborative solutions.
