New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday announced a fresh round of organisational appointments, unveiling new state presidents for Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Tripura as part of a broader restructuring exercise aimed at strengthening the party ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament Harsh Malhotra was appointed the new president of the BJP’s Delhi unit, marking a significant leadership change in the national capital. In Haryana, the party selected Archana Gupta to lead the state organisation, while Abhishek Debroy was chosen as the new chief of the Tripura unit.
For Punjab, where Assembly elections are expected to become a major political battleground, the BJP appointed Kewal Singh Dillon as the state president. The move is being viewed as part of the party’s strategy to strengthen its regional leadership and improve organisational coordination at the grassroots level.
The appointments were approved by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and formally announced through separate notifications issued by party national general secretary Arun Singh.
According to the notifications, all appointments have come into effect immediately, signalling the beginning of what is expected to be a wider internal restructuring process within the party. The BJP leadership is also believed to be preparing for further changes involving state office-bearers and key national organisational positions in the coming weeks.
The reshuffle comes at a crucial time as the BJP intensifies preparations for several important elections across the country. Party leaders are aiming to strengthen communication between the central leadership and state units while also expanding the party’s organisational reach in politically sensitive regions.
The latest appointments are expected to play an important role in shaping the BJP’s campaign strategy and internal structure ahead of future electoral battles.
