SIOLIM: The Anti-Narcotic Police Station (ANC PS), St. Cruz, arrested a 31-year-old man and seized narcotic substances worth approximately ₹7.77 lakh during a raid at a rented premises in Oxel, Siolim, Bardez, in the early hours of August 9.
Acting on prior information as part of the ongoing Drug-Free Goa Campaign, a team led by PSI Vikesh Hadfadkar conducted the raid in the presence of two panch witnesses. The accused was identified as Shivam Binjola, originally from Khatima, Uttarakhand.
Police said the search resulted in the seizure of different narcotic substances, including ecstasy powder, LSD blot papers, hydroponic ganja and ganja. The total value of the seized drugs has been estimated at around ₹7.77 lakh.
ANC Police Station has registered Crime No. 17/2026 under Sections 22(c) and 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The accused was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa, and was remanded to five days of police custody.
The operation was conducted under the coordination and guidance of PI Sagun Sawant, PI, ANC PS, and SP Nerlon Albuquerque, holding additional charge of DySP, ANC, under the overall supervision of SP Sunita Sawant, SP, ANC.
The ANC PS said it remains committed to the Drug-Free Goa Campaign and will continue strict action against persons involved in the possession, distribution and supply of narcotic drugs.
