PANJIM: Goa has topped in terms of the highest Covid-19 tests carried out so far at 94,773 tests per million as on August 11, while Delhi comes second but far below Goa as it has so far recorded 65,397 tests per million. Following protests throughput the State on spike in power bills, the State government on Tuesday decided to waive-off 50 p.c of the fixed charge on electricity bills for the month of April and May. “The Government has decided to give a total rebate of Rs18.3 crores to Electricity Department consumers. 50% of fixed charges are waived for April and May for all low tension domestic, commercial and other categories,” said a release issued by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant. PANJIM: Goa University (GU) today has issued a circular directing it’s affiliated colleges to commence online classes for the academic year 2020-21 from September 1, 2020. “According to special ordinance issued by Goa University on Monday, it has decided to commence online classes for its affiliated colleges in the state from 1st September 2020.
