Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: Goa today reported 48 new COVID-19 positive cases today. While there 66 recoveries and 3 deaths were reported today. As per DHS bulletin, three persons died due to Covid at GMC Hospital on the last 24-hours. A 69-year-old man from Chandor, 63-year-old lady from Quepem and a 57-year-old man from Curtorim succumbed to Covid. The cumulative covid death count of the state now stands at 784. Further, the active cases now stand at 504. The recovery rate in last 24 hours is 97.63% while the samples tested in last 24 hours is 1604.

Pernem: Sugar Plantation spread over 40,000 sqmt land at Sukekolan, Dhargal catches fire causing loss over four lakhs to farmers. According to the farmers, on Tuesday evening, sugar Plantation spread over 40,000 sqmt land caught fire. Farmers who had planted sugarcane have alleged that this planatation is purposely set in fire since this land is acquired for the proposed highway to mopa airport. Famers claimed that to clear the land for the highway, the plantation was set on fire in the absence of the farmers. Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: FC Goa captain Edu Bedia has been issued a Show Cause Notice by All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee for an injury-time incident during their match against Chennaiyin FC played on Saturday 13th February at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim. Bedia was reported of ‘unsporting behaviour towards CFC player Deepak Tangri.’ The Committee has given the Spaniard time till 17th February to submit a reply. FATORDA: The Fatorda Police today have arrested 1 person for having assaulted notorious history sheeter Anwar Shaikh at Arlem on Monday. As per information, Anwar was assaulted by 3 persons at Arlem Circle using a knife while of the person fired a gunshot. As per police they have nabbed one of the culprits namely Ricky while the hunt for the remaining two is on.
