The Goa Police has initiated departmental inquiry against Police Inspector Sagar Ekoskar after he allegedly assaulted a local representative from Honda. Ekoskar, sources said, has been sent on leave. The Villagers of Honda have been demanding his suspension since morning. Panaji: Following reports that the elections would be held on December 12, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho informed that the Zilla Parishad Elections can be held on either December 9th or 16th January, 2021. “I have moved the file to the Chief Minister informing that elections could be held on January 9 or 16, Now it is upto him to take a decision after consulting the State Election Commission,” Godinho said. Godinho rejected rumours that the elections could be held on December 12. On Tuesday, the Secretary for Elections Melwyn Vaz had said that the State is prepared for ZP polls.

The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today announced road-map to double the farmers income by 2022. The road-map prepared by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) speaks about making Goa self-sufficient in agriculture produce. Panaji: In a major decision, the Bench of Bombay High Court at Goa set aside appointments of 32 Assistant Data Entry Operators (ADEO) in the electricity department citing procedural lapses in the recruitment. The Court also directed the State to prepare a fresh list based on OM dated 05.03.2007 and issue appointment orders to the 32 most meritorious candidates on or before Jan 31,2021.
