MARGAO: With the onset of the monsoon, authorities across parts of South Goa have stepped up safety measures to prevent drowning incidents and ensure public safety.
As per directions of the Deputy Collector, Canacona, “Danger: Deep Water” warning boards have been installed at vulnerable locations to alert residents and visitors. Similarly, in Ponda, safety banners highlighting “Risk of Drowning” have been put up on the instructions of the Deputy Collector to caution the public and tourists.
In Dharbandora taluka, entry into rivers, lakes and other waterbodies has been restricted as a precautionary measure amid rising water levels and strong currents during the monsoon season.
Officials have urged citizens and visitors to strictly adhere to these advisories and avoid venturing into waterbodies, stressing that such measures are crucial to prevent accidents and save lives during the rainy season.
