CANACONA: Canacona Police have registered a case following the theft of eight lithium batteries and an alternator from a telecom tower site at Bhatpal, Canacona.
According to the complaint filed by Sagar Desai, a resident of Tiswadi, the theft took place sometime between June 21 and July 6, 2026, at an open-place tower site belonging to Indus Ltd. at Bhatpal.
The complaint states that unidentified person or persons allegedly removed eight Amaron lithium batteries and one alternator that had been installed at the tower.
The stolen equipment is estimated to be worth approximately ₹63,000, causing a financial loss to the company.
Canacona Police have initiated an investigation to identify those involved in the theft and recover the stolen equipment.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Ramdas Doifide of Canacona Police Station.
