PANAJI: Model and actor Priya Soni, who was in the capital city of Goa recently for a family function during the Diwali festive week, was robbed of her mobile phone while shopping at a convenience store in Panaji over the weekend.
According to her manager, Priya got down from her car and visited a store by the roadside. She put her mobile phone in her jeans back pocket and went to purchase a bottle of drinking water and some other items. She was facing the store, with her back to the road.
While she was paying the storekeeper and picking up the items, two youths on a motorbike brushed by her and snatched her mobile phone from her jeans back pocket.
Narrating the incident, Priya said, “before I could turn around and raise the alarm, the thieves had disappeared on their motorbike within a few seconds. Both of them were wearing helmets, and the entire thing happened so fast that it was impossible for me to note down the bike’s registration number or take down any details. I was so stunned as I never expected such a thing to happen to me that it took me a minute to realize that I was robbed and that my mobile phone was stolen from my pocket.”
