Margao – The publicity hungry BJP workers today resorted to high handedness and physically assaulted the P.W.D Engineers who were on duty during the commencement of hot mixing of roads at Comba in Margao Constituency. We demand that the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar, South Goa Collector and DGP should take suo-moto cognizance of the said incident whose videos are now viral on the social media and book all the Margao BJP workers for obstructing and attacking Government staff on duty demanded Margao Block Congress President Gopal Naik.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat followed up with the Public Works Department and ensured that the tenders are floated for hot mixing of roads in the entire city. The hot mixing of roads was taken in the Comba area after completion of repair of sewerage pipe line. The work commenced today after breaking of coconut at the hands of Margao MLA, Former Municipal Chairperson Ajit Hegde and Johnson Gonsalves, Writer and Thinker Dr. Harishchandra Nagvekar, former councillors Doris Texeira, Manoj Masurkar, Deepa Shirodkar, Damodar Naik, Avinash Shirodkar, Damodar Shirodkar and prominent residents of Comba.
The BJP workers who are now trying to mislead the people with an eye on Municipal Elections, tried to stop the hot mixing work by pressurising the Engineers and Contractors by physically manhandling them. This act of the BJP is highly condemnable. The local BJP unit which was in deep slumber over the last five years have suddenly woken up with the Municipal Elections round the corner claimed Gopal Naik.
We have documentary evidence to prove that the developmental works are carried in the constituency on the initiative of Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and the local BJP workers have no right to claim credit for the same stated Gopal Naik.
The local BJP workers who gathered today to take the credit of the hot mixing of roads were missing last year when the entire city roads had developed potholes. We have video evidence to prove that Margao MLA Digambar Kamat was awake till late night supervising the work of filling the potholes reminded Gopal Naik.
