PONDA: The National Highway roads at Borim were hot mixed two months back; however, as road edges and road mud shoulders are not levelled, it poses a risk of accidents to vehicles and pedestrians.
Borim locals criticized the haphazard execution of the hot-mixing of Borim roads.
Ramesh Naik, a local at Borim, said in several places, the edges of roads have come nearly 20 to 30 cm above the shoulder of the road, further creating a risk to the public. Ramesh Naik said two-wheeler riders have a high risk of falling off the road because of this level difference between the shoulder and hot mix carpet.
If vehicles went off the edge of the road, this is a sure invitation for vehicles to go down the shoulder or footpath and put pedestrians’ life in danger,” said Borim locals.
Locals demanded that the concerned authorities should check upon the work executed.
