PANAJI: The Goa Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, has approved Phase 2 of the state’s Tourism Master Plan, extending the engagement of KPMG Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. for the preparation of Goa’s Tourism Master Plan and Tourism Policy.
The approval marks a key step in the state’s efforts to develop a comprehensive framework for tourism growth and guide future policy decisions and development priorities.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced the extension of KPMG Advisory Services under the second phase of the planning exercise. The Tourism Master Plan and Tourism Policy are expected to provide strategic direction for the development of Goa’s tourism sector in the coming years.
In another key decision, the Cabinet approved 50% rent relief for existing shopkeepers occupying shops in newly constructed municipal buildings. Under the decision, shopkeepers will be charged 50% of the rent calculated by the Public Works Department (PWD).
The relief currently applies to Curchorem and may be extended to other areas, Sawant said.
