PORVORIM: Law Minister and Churchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral today said that he welcomes the prestigious project of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Churchorem if at the state government is planning to shift the proposed site out of Melauli.

“I welcome IIT project in my constituency but there are some issues with people which I will meet with them and settle,” Cabral said
He further said that the Power Departments One Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme had been receiving very poor response from the people and that disconnections of defaulters have already begun.
“I urge defaulters to come forward and take benefit of the scheme as it has been extended till January 31, 2021. Payment of electricity bills has been held up due to various reasons, providing the people ease of access to a one-time settlement scheme through which the consumers can pay bills in installments. ” he said
Cabral said that OTS scheme was launched with an aim to support the consumers in clearing their long-pending dues by paying only the principal amount and the delayed payment charges will be fully or partly waived off depending on the repayment period.
Speaking on the recent case of marriage registration fraud, Cabral said that online marriage registration will avoid frauds. He also said that previous marriage records will be incorporated in the new online system.
“In a day almost 300 marriages have been registered in online system,” he added
