CANACONA: A meeting was held today at the Canacona police station with the members of the Forum for Senior Citizens of Canacona, Canacona Business Association, Health Welfare Committee of Canacona.
In this meeting, participants raised issues related to installation of CCTV cameras in the market, especially public places, improvement of parking system in commercial hub of Chaudi, regular enquiries by Police beat-teams about the health and welfare of senior citizens, mandatory filling of C-forms of migrant workers, penalizing action against the owners of motorcycle using fancy and heavy sounds-making silencers, action against some wandering vagrants, besides various other issues such as taking action against cattle and dogs were also discussed in the meeting.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandesh Chodankar, Police Inspector Chandrakant Gawas, and also social worker Social worker Tara Kerkar were present in this meeting.
The officers assured the citizens that they would understand these problems and try to solve them. Also, Police Inspector Chandrakant Gawas said that some of the specific issues raised by concerned members which are not in the purview of police, but pertains with other departments, would be reported/sent to those departments for necessary actions.
During the discussion, Business Association President Diego Da Silva, other attendee Shantaji Naikgaonkar, Milan Desai, , Natavidade De Sa, Sukumar, Honorat Fernandes, Eshwar, Anil Bhagat, Ganadhish Nagersekar, Madhukar Desai, Puno Velip, Succour Fernandes, Carvalho, Sagar Nagersekar were amongst the members who raised the issues with the police.
On this occasion, Social worker Tara Kerkar also guided the senior citizens and others present on the occasion.
