OLAULIM: A 54-year-old woman has been booked after allegedly driving a car in a rash and negligent manner and colliding with a scooter near the Christian Crematorium at Olaulim, Pomburpha, Bardez, on September 26.
According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Sushma Pravin Hede, a resident of Alto Torda, Porvorim, was driving car bearing registration number GA-03-P-1148 from Pomburpha towards Aldona at around 7.18 pm.
Police alleged that while overtaking scooter GA-03-AN-3411, which was travelling in the same direction, Hede failed to take proper care and caution and the car dashed against the scooter.
The impact caused the scooter rider, identified as 69-year-old Baltazar John Fernandes of Coelhowado, Brittona, Bardez, to sustain serious bodily injuries.
The case has been registered in connection with the alleged rash and negligent driving. Further investigation is in progress under IO HC 5462 Mahesh Mayekar.
