PANAJI: The state government has withdrawn the circular mandating the Revenue Minister’s approval for converting plots of over 1,000 sq meters.
“Government has withdrawn the circular mandating Revenue Minister’s approval for converting plots of over 1,000 sq meters,” said Revenue Minister Babush Monserrate.
He further said that this circular was withdrawn as it was noticed that it would further consume more time to issue conversation sanads.
The revenue department directed the two district collectors to hold in abeyance all sanad approvals for plots which are more than 1,000sqm.
On April 27, the department suspended all notified ODPs, citing a grave emergency. These are the ODPS for Parra Arpora-Nagoa, Calangute-Candolim and Vasco. A 10-member scrutiny committee has been tasked with identifying irregularities in the ODPs, and a preliminary report is expected to be put in the public domain by June 15, said Rane.
