PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee will launch the Haath Se Haath Jodo on March 4.
GPCC President Amit Patkar said that the Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra is an attempt to reach out to people who are already suffering from inflation, unemployment, and Price rise.
“We will present a chargesheet against the BJP govt that has failed in almost all its promises. The Congress would launch Hath Se Hath Jodo yatra across the state starting March 4.
He said that the main intention of the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ yatra was to take the message of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra to every household in the country.
Further, he said through the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ campaign, the Congress party has been exposing the failures of the BJP Govt at the Centre and the State of Goa State.
He said that the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ would be conducted in all Assembly constituencies in Goa, and the Congress workers would meet every family to explain how it was deceived by the Modi and Sawant Governments.
Targetting BJP Patkar said those speaking against the BJP are being targeted across the state.
“There are many examples not only in Sankhali but across the state where someone is speaking against the BJP government are being targeted,” said Patkar.
He further said that be it drugs, prostitution or crime cases, they have been increased under the BJP rule.
“When Goa had Congress government, we did only what the people of Goa wanted. There was no pressure on the people during our tenure,” he added.
Patkar said that in the past, Congress had made it amply clear that Mhadei is the lifeline of Goa, and there will be no compromise on Mhadei as far as Congress is concerned.
Patkar pointed out that Sawant had declared on December 30 that he would write to the Prime Minister demanding the withdrawal of the approval given to the detailed project report (DPR) of the Kalasa-Bhandura project.
“What happened to that letter? Why are you meeting the home minister and not the Prime Minister?” said Patkar.
The Congress also alleged that the BJP government does not want any opposition as they can do whatever they want.
“Unemployment, price rise, murder of Democracy are important issues,” he added.
Speaking on Adani, Patkar, both the LIC and SBI are invested heavily in Adani Group companies, which the Congress and other Opposition parties allege is a scam and jeopardizes the interest of citizens who have invested hard-earned money in these two State-owned financial institutions.
