PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwjit Rane informed that Goa Medical College (GMC) will inaugurate a control hub/command centre set up under the Centre of Excellence for Department of Paediatrics, which will monitor and consult virtually the paediatric ICU patients admitted in paediatric ICU of GMC as well as in district hospitals of Goa.
“Goa Medical College shall shortly inaugurate control hub/command centre set up under Centre of Excellence for Department of Paediatrics procure under ERCP-II which is a 100% centrally funded scheme. This control hub shall monitor and consult virtually the paediatric ICU patients admitted in paediatric ICU of GMC as well as in district hospitals of Goa,” said Rane.
He further said that GMC has state-of-art HIMS in Super Specialty Block, and it is a completely paperless system and all patients are given electronic health records or health data like Blood, Urine, radiological investigation, etc. are maintained electronically in a physical server installed in GMC.
The minister said that the dispensing of drugs is also done electronically, and the data will be mapped with HIMS of DHS, which is presently under construction.
“Goa Medical College has procured digital smart/virtual e-classroom solutions which shall be used for teleconsultation. The teleconsultation shall be provided by all doctors of GMC as per the slots given to them. The said teleconsultation platform was inaugurated at the hands of Nitin Gadkari,” he said.
Rane said that HIMS modules for registration, pharmacy and insurance have been operational in GMC since 2016.
Further, it is informed that we are in receipt of a proposal from ITG Ltd. for the installation of all modules of HIMS online, similar to one being installed in all health centres under DHS.
