MARGAO: Ananda Ganpat Jadhav, Branch Manager of the Central Bank of India, Curchorem Branch, was arrested by the police for defrauding bank customers of a substantial sum of money. The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao, denied his bail request.
All parties presented their reasons after the court sent notices to the Curchorem Police, the defense attorney, and the assistant public prosecutor. In court, the Curchorem Police contested the bail request.
According to police, Cristalina Coutinho, a resident of Sasnamoddi, Curchorem, filed the complaint that started the case.
Coutinho claimed that Rs 14.28 lakh was fraudulently moved from her account numbers to his on May 27, 2024, at the Central Bank of India’s Curchorem Branch. Jadhav and Tanvi Vast, a co-accused, are accused of carrying out the transfer without the complainant’s or her family members’ knowledge or approval.
Jadhav was later taken into custody in relation to the offense. PSI Mayur Panshikar of the Curchorem Police Station is in charge of the investigation.
Relatedly, Jadhav has submitted an anticipatory bail application to the Margao sessions judge, which is set for hearing on November 29.
